History of Bushwhacker Cabin

image9 Bushwhacker Cabin West Virginia CabinsThe Bushwhacker Cabin was named by the Confederate Guerrillas in the Civil War. Bushwhackers were recruited by the South to ambush Union Soldiers.

This cabin was built by the Grime’s family of Lobelia, located at Mill Point around the year of 1855.

“Since my husband has many, many cousins in this area of West Virginia, we have been staying @ Jerico B&B for the last 5 or 6 years. We’ve tried staying in several of their Pre Civil War cabins (Patton, Yank, Rebel & Ruckman) and looked at several of the larger ones too. Each cabin is always meticulously kept and the owners are the friendliest people – even more so for us, since they’re related to Chris’ Mom’s ancestors.

With lots of trails to hike or bike and many interesting places to visit in the area, we would definitely recommend you spend some time at Jerico Bed & Breakfast. There are many wonderful restaurants to visit – plus fishing in the Spring/skiing in the winter & railroad trains to ride on………………why would you miss it!”
